This cabin in the woods was upgraded to a year round dwelling with two large additions: The first a spacious pine-paneled living room with cathedral ceiling, wood stove and glass sliding doors looking out at the woods and Neversink River in the back. Stairs lead up to a generous loft. The other is a light-filled sunken sunroom, with 3 sides wrapped in windows. Another glass slider allows for year round water views. It also provides easy access to the back of the house, where soaring pines with high canopy blanket the ground in needles. It is where owners and their guests gather around a crackling fire, share their stories and are bathed in the calming sounds of the river. The basic country kitchen is roomy and includes a corner for dropping gear, while a staircase leads to a deep loft that could easily serve as a fourth bedroom or office space. A short hallway off the kitchen leads to 2BRs and a bathroom. And then there is the river, whose calming presence can’t be over-stated.
